Encyclopedia - Research

My topic choice is : The idea of martin Luther King about how white people repressed black people in society.
* Some Questions:
a/ How did they react ( or not react) to their oppressed?
b/ What were the effects of the oppression?
c/ What group of people at present or historically, could you describe as " oppress"? who are ( or were) their oppressors?
* I found some information about the ideas of Martin Luther King about this topic. And he gave the idea that three ways in which oppressed people have historically reacted to their oppressors. Why? First of all, he think black people accept the ways that white people did it for them. Because they think there no hope for their future, so they want to remain it every moment toward freedom. He thinks black people become accustomed to being slaves.
Second, he thinks to acquiesce is immoral. Finally, the Negro( black people) think white people is very brutal with them, so they want the future of thier children is better than parents and also live in comfort and safety country.
Third, Martin Luther King showed us violence is impractical and immoral. He thinks impractical because it can destroy everything little by little. Thus, violence is immoral because it can destroy people and also the world rather than change the country in a better way.White people just think in thier own side, they do not think the side of black people, so it can lead to destroy the community and make the relationship between white people and black people impossible.

This is the main reason that can lead too Civil Right War from 1861 - 1865

* Vocabulary:

acquiesce ( n) agree or accept

immoral ( adj) not accepted by society

oppress ( v) to treat people in an unfair and cruel way
